Ai could have been so great. We could have used it to help detect cancer in scans. Ai is great at noticing what people don’t in DATA. Instead we were sold the “profitable” version of slop generation. Ai doesn’t need to generate stuff

there's this hot dog place that just appeared for delivery in my local area and their entire menu is AI and I'm just not willing to even give them a try because if you don't even trust yourself to take good pictures of your food why would I assume your food is good here is a picture from their menu

I make a point to stop my mom and show her every time I see AI signage and give her a lesson about how to tell. There’s been more than once where the people working could overhear me and gave me dirty looks, probably because the conversation is filled with me saying “and I will never give them money because of it” 💀

My book club met at a new coffee shop recently and they had AI all over the store. I got a drink and I couldn’t drink it because it was so disgustingly sweet. It was from the AI generated book club menu they had, which clearly AI gave the recipe for because no human could possibly drink it. I won’t be going back.

I saw the same thing at the annual downtown block party this week. a coffee cart menu was exclusively AI images and descriptions. no one was in line. I didn't see anyone in line the entire time I was walking around.

just started a job at a small business (apothecary/euro Cafe) when my boss found out my daughter is an artist she IMMEDIATELY wanted to showcase her in any way, and help her make $ even if it was just putting her art on a label or something 😭 WHY CAN'T EVERYONE SEE ART THAT WAY
