@hilaryparks100: Now there’s division between Haitians and Black Americans over TPS deportations… but the real conversation is: temporary was always the plan. This administration stands on business. #haitians #tps #blackcommunity #immigration #americanpolitics
I am Haitian🇭🇹 and I agree with you beautiful lady 🤙🏿🤙🏿

Thank God you were born American. You want to talk about the situation and say loudly Haitians need to go back just say it but don’t bring “Haitians upset at black Americans to the equation.

A point that is often overlooked is the assumption that Haitians simply failed to "get their papers together." For many, it was never that simple. U.S. immigration pathways are limited and complex, and under the current administration, many legal protections have been challenged or narrowed. For countless Haitian families, the barriers were legal, not a lack of effort.
Let's also avoid turning an already difficult situation into a divide between Haitians and Black Americans. Misunderstandings and prejudice can exist on both sides, and if we want progress, both communities have to acknowledge that.
It's also important to recognize that support has come from many communities. Many Latino advocates have stood with Haitian immigrants, while the civil rights struggles led by Black Americans created many of the legal protections and opportunities that immigrants benefit from today.
Turning this into a Haitians vs. Black Americans debate is, in my opinion, missing the point. Understanding our different histories should bring us closer, not push us further apart.

I understand why many Haitians are disappointed and worried about the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). It’s a decision that can have a major impact on people’s lives and families.
At the same time, every country has the authority to set and enforce its own immigration laws. Disagreeing with a policy is understandable, but blaming Americans as a whole isn’t productive. Real conversations should focus on the policy itself and on the challenges facing Haiti, including governance, security, and long-term stability.
Respect for one another, accountability from leaders, and constructive dialogue are more likely to lead to solutions than anger directed at entire groups of people.
