This was the place to go to get grain for animals during a terrible drought. They called it The Promise Land, aka Egypt, aka New Egypt and it stuck. The name was Plumsted and New Egypt and Plumsted Twp are synonymous. Amazing little town I have called home for over 25 years. 💙💛

My hometown I moved away for a few years but I moved back. I love my hometown and living here its a small town where everyone knows everyone. My grandma lived in New Egypt for 68 years we used to call her the Mayor of New Egypt she knew everyone and everyone knew her you ever wanted to know what was going on everyone would call her to find out. R.I.P Gram we all miss you 💔😢
