personally i dont find it that crazy that we exist, if the universe is as big as science says it is, then i feel like anything is possible. theres likely thousands of planets, maybe even galaxies, out there with various life forms completely different or very similar to ours

I think a cool theory I have thought about is the idea that biology is the universe’s way of protecting itself. Through billions of years, it possibly becomes inevitable that some species is advanced enough to postpone or completely halt the death of the universe. Thus, it preserves itself, similar to our bodies.

You can’t be unconscious and experience anything so I don’t get the idea of “we got so lucky for existing” because if we didn’t exist we couldn’t contemplate weather or not we exist because we wouldn’t be conscious. Meaning you can only be conscious never unconscious, this means humanity is “rare” but consciousness is not, as consciousness will appear always when the conditions are met.

I find the fact that we exist fascinating. If we truly are the only existing intelligent species (i doubt it) then in some ways, that just means the universe wanted to experience itself. sometime, somehow, a spark of consciousness appeared, maybe not out of chance, maybe, the universe somehow felt lonely. maybe the universe needed to know it existed
