⚠️Here is everything you ACTUALLY need to know⚠️: It passed the House, now Senate and House disagree on the KOSA/KIDS act regarding the “protective” algorithm. The House is trying to appeal to the people by weakening the algorithm to just show nothing that is deemed incredibly harmful or dangerous, 3D, S H, etc (which may affect hotline access). Senate disagrees with this and wants stricter laws enforced with very vague guidelines over what they can’t control about your algorithm (think of Tinker VS Des Moines and using the words “anything disruptive” because what does disruptive mean?) Anyway, both divisions need to settle on a compromise act before it can even be brought to congress. Last time this bill died in congress over privacy concerns which will likely happen again, however if it does pass congress it will then be presented to the President and if the President passes it they must set a date for this to go into affect. Likely, the bill won’t pass and will die over discussion or in Congress. But if it passes it won’t take to affect for a while.
