Instead of replacing Daniel's personality, Leo's consciousness became trapped inside Daniel's mind. Ever since then, Daniel has been struggling against Leo's violent influence while suffering severe memory loss. Throughout the game, Leo appears to Daniel as though he is a real person traveling beside him. He gives advice, encourages brutal violence, and manipulates Daniel into believing they are partners.
