Ai is doing the job instead of a human and it's only going to get worse.

patient: I'm doing terribly, all over the place.
insurance: Noted, will continue treatment.

I have always tried to be 100% truthful and accurate with my primary care physician and any doctor I see. I don’t hide issues and I certainly don’t make them up. Now I’m really concerned that what I share with Physicians is going to be used against me by my insurance company. I’m glad you opened my eyes to what they’re really doing.

The word salad is so exhausting. If you aren’t getting better you get dropped. If you are getting better you are dropped 💔

Thank you for sharing these because it also helps us know what not to tell the doctor you are getting better cause they will cut off treatment.

after I had my traffic accident, I was told by my attorney that when my insurance called, DO NOT SAY "I'm doing good" or "I'm alright" or anything else that would suggest that I was fine.

Do y’all understand that insurance does not receive a patient’s full office note with every claim? Claims go out every day by the thousands, usually with billing codes — not every word said during the appointment.
For an insurer to know she was “feeling more like herself,” that information had to be sent in through something else: a prior-auth renewal, continuation review, medical-record request, utilization review, appeal, or possibly an audit.
So how did this actually happen? What medication was it? What review was being done? What documentation was submitted? And what did the denial letter actually say?
That missing middle is the whole point. Without it, nobody knows what was denied, why it was denied, or how to fix it.

you give me hope in a hopeless failed medical system. these insurance companies need someone to hold them accountable. keep up the good work. Lord knows we need more folks such as yourself.

And if she lies and says she's not improving they'll discontinue it. I have to answer that same dang question for the insurance everytime before they will ship me my monthly biologic. Yeah its helped keep the major flares at bay but im getting smaller ones almost daily now. so its a catch 22. I have to lie to keep the big flares at bay.

HIPAA aside, doctor does not need to document subjective statements like that. An honest doctor-patient conversation needs to happen before a claim reaches this point. Look doc, I don’t like how this medication makes me feel… it’s not helping much anyway… sorry to call you like this Mrs XOXO, it sounds like you’re fully recovered unless you have any additional concerns, I’ve done what I can and we can go ahead and not schedule any more follow-ups.

Not the Georgia in me saying: polite small talk answers only. But this is why in 25 years of treatment I have made "minimal" progress at least on paper & only in certain areas. 😁
