President Obama says hold that thought, and my beer while you’re at it… Even his naysayers and detractors had to respect him. President Obama was regal. He was Presidential. He was everything Trump and his followers aspire to be. Don’t take it from me, listen to your guy Joe Rogan tell the truth. Fort he record: I will likely never agree with every single act a leader has done. I don't want to minimize some of President Obama's actions that I don't fully agree with especially with the luxury of hindsight. With that being said, I understand the reality of what President Obama was up against. He had to appeal to all of America: the good, the bad, and the ugly. President Obama walked so Mayor Mamdani could run. Mayor Mamdani has been one of my favorite politicians or leaders of all time up to this point. I know it’s still early in the term. However, I haven't seen a single thing that made me have doubt or think twice. I also understand the country is more primed for leaders like Mayor Mamdani. I also understand Mayor Mamdani was fortunate to have a city that is ready for his style of leadership and policies. The country wasn't ready for President Obama at least not much of white America. They still aren't. Mayor Mamdani would be met with hate and contempt in communities like where I live. Despite his abilities to lead with grace, dignity, and most importantly competency, they still hate him for being a foreign born Muslim who proudly calls himself a Democratic Socialist. President Obama paved the way for so many. He cracked open doors that others can now bust through behind him. Again I don't fully agree with everything especially knowing what I know now. But think about this, when President Obama was in office I was a die hard white Christian nationalist. If he had never won, I maybe never changed. For that I'm forever thankful. Thank you for being here. Whether you agree or not, I believe in our right to express ourselves. I believe in civil discourse and healthy debates.
