I believe that love is an obsession. We're usually supposed to have offspring with many people, not just have one partner for life. To have only one lover you care about deeply, then you'd have to be obsessed with them somehow. You'd have to have gone through certain circumstances for that to happen, such as sharing a traumatic experience together or that only that person is able to provide you with something the others can't - a feeling of safety, excitement, being understood or seen, etc. That person is exceptional and cannot be compared to or replaced with somebody else. You cannot live without them, you think about them all the time, you want to spend all the time you have on this Earth solely with them, holding their hand and facing the hardships life provide with unwavering will, trust and loyalty towards each other. They're are the only human that can fill the void in your heart and make you feel that you're alive.
