It takes a specific person who can be level headed in the hard times and they can rationalize things when you have tried or you need someone to give you their perspective. It also takes you having the willingness and motivation to actually work on using coping skills. Your life should not be put be in someone else’s hand. That is very unhealthy like your life isn’t your partners responsibility. They are supposed to love you as a whole person. Not as a crisis they are responsible for managing. What’s scary is half of these comments have that mindset. This is coming from someone who has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and it took me 7 years to actually start to be able to cope with things myself, but I also do reach out to my support if I need of helping myself isn’t at my capacity at that moment. DBT therapy + medication + Support system + having hobbies really fucking help.

it’s actually no one’s responsibility to take care of you! coming from someone with complex bpd i went to dbt therapy and am on a medication regimen and i live a very happy healthy life no one is responsible for you and your reactions!! hope everyone gets the help they deserve we don’t have to feel like this!!!
