canadian here! Presto is on there too! i hope they put myki soon on apple wallet it saves a lot of time. It’s been inconvenient using a physical card instead of just tapping my iphone.

Express Transit :
Cities in Australia with transit cards in Apple Wallet: zero. Next up is Sydney with next gen Opal by 2028. Most so far have chosen contactless as the fastest path to get on mobile.

Did you see the MKBHD video about the flaw in transit card in iPhone (with some providers)? From memory they also show how the card reader knows to use transit card vs bank other card to process the payment and how transit card feature can do it without being unlocked

I’m using Paris’ Navigo in Apple Wallet and finding the implementation is pretty poor. My Apple Wallet is getting clogged up with Navigo passes because each different type of trip (e.g. metro, Airport rail, tram/bus) requires a separate digital card, and then you can’t top up with trips (e.g. 10-pack of trips) so you just have to buy a new one each time. Then you have to find the right digital card in your wallet before you can tap on each time you use it. It’s pretty clumsy.

Unpopular opinion but I like having a seperate card for travel. I got used to using an Oyster card in London and it helped me stay on budget for the month on travel costs. Plus it’s less likely you’ll forget your wallet.
