Story time, everyone! 😂💔 Let me take you to the United States of Abraka. The place you're seeing in this video is Winners Road, Abraka, Delta State. This flood is exactly what we're experiencing right now. This is actually the second time this has happened. The first time, my phone was dead, so I couldn't record it, but this time, I had to. Winners Road used to be one of the safest and most peaceful places to live, so seeing it like this honestly made me wonder, "What is happening?" Before I started recording, my bike rider tried to take me through the flood because he felt sorry for me; I live quite far away, and he didn't want me to walk through the water. Unfortunately, some men stopped him and even hit him, telling him to turn back. At first, I was upset because nobody explained what was going on. Later, I found out that bikes weren't allowed to pass because the waves they created were pushing more water into people's homes. If someone had simply explained that to us, we would have understood and turned back peacefully. My bike rider was just trying to help, so I had no choice but to walk. This video only captures a small part of my journey. I actually walked from there all the way to my compound. At one point, I had to walk through someone's yard because everywhere else was flooded. Water had already entered people's homes, and even the soakaway was backing up. As I walked, all I could think about was the number of germs in that water. I was screaming for help in my mind, but I had no other choice. Then, something else happened, NEPA restored the electricity. I froze. I was scared to put my feet in the water because I was worried about exposed electrical wires. The fear of electrocution was overwhelming. It took me a while to gather the courage to keep walking. When I finally reached my compound, I remembered that we have dogs who usually poop around the area, and I recalled seeing some that morning. That's when it hit me: I had probably walked through water mixed with dog waste. As if that wasn't enough, the flood had already begun to enter our compound. Someone then informed me that our soakaway had overflowed. I was shocked. Now we were dealing with floodwater mixed with soakaway waste. How is this safe? How are people supposed to live like this? If you look closely, you’ll see that even businesses in the area have been affected. Honestly, we need help in Abraka, Delta State, especially on Winners Road. We cannot continue living like this. This is only the second time it has happened, but I don’t want it to become our new normal. I don't know what the solution is, but something has to be done. Please, this is a cry for help. #fyp#nigeriannews #abraka #flood #publicsafety
