@deinadaily: It’s heartbreaking that this happens almost every year, and it’s been happening for decades. People work hard, save money, pay rent, build businesses, and create homes only for everything to be turned upside down in a single day. My question is WHAT’S REALLY CAUSING THIS? Is it a government problem? Is it the responsibility of citizens? Do we need a better drainage system, stricter urban planning and regular maintenance of our drains? Or do we, as citizens, also need to stop littering and dumping waste into gutters and waterways? Maybe the answer isn’t one or the other. Maybe it’s both. Until we address the root causes together, we’ll keep witnessing the same heartbreaking scenes year after year. It’s truly disheartening to watch lives, livelihoods, animals, and properties being swept away by floods that have become all too familiar. My heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone affected, especially those who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, or cherished belongings. I pray for strength, comfort, and safer days ahead for all.

We need to stop making everything about politics. This is about Ghana and the lives of Ghanaians not political parties.
Yes, the government has a responsibility, but we as individuals also have a responsibility. Many of these floods happen because we dump rubbish into drains, leave gutters choked, and continue with habits that harm our own communities.
Even if the government clears every gutter today, what will happen if we go back to dumping rubbish tomorrow? The same disaster will happen again.
Let's stop pointing fingers and start changing our attitudes. This is not the time for politics or blame. It is time for responsibility, unity, and action. If we help ourselves, we make it easier for the government to help us.
