when Zuko found and released Appa, that's where his development started. him betraying Aang and Katara was such a plot twist. but "natla" decides to keep him lowkey antagonistic so the twist at the end is expected. literally spoon-feeding Zuko's arc (and other things) to viewers who don't know any better😭

Zuko’s whole arc is not about villain turning to light, it is about misguided young man understanding what is right vs what he taught to be right. Making him vicious takes away so much from who he is as person.

Here's the thing, they did watch the show. The problem is, writers and producers at Netflix are notorious for thinking they're smarter than literally everyone else, and they were convinced they could do it better. That's why we're seeing scenes taken directly from the cartoon and inverted, because they're *trying* to be contrarian.
