I think they messed up marketing it as an adaptation so hard. If people weren’t going into it expecting it to be exactly like the the comic then more people would like it. I loved it personally and I plan on seeing it again in theaters. The marketing though, did the movie and supergirl dirty

it’s definitely “inspired” by the comic but it’s not an adaptation like people were expecting. but i still really enjoyed it and the same message came across!
