While the Superman scene feels less emotional to the audience as the GotG3 scene because the audience isn’t as connected to the random citizen as they are to Lylla, it just goes to show how much Superman loves even a stranger, and how much someone—even someone he’s barely connected to—matters to him. That makes him Superman.
