I don't just blame the airlines honestly. I also blame the companies who make the suitcases. They know damn well that the thing is not going to be accepted cuz it's going to be over the sizes they want so why do they even make them. I just bought a new suitcase and can barely put anything in it before I hit the 50 lb because the stupid thing weighs so much empty.

There is a maximum of 64 linear inches at all airlines. Not just AA. Just like max weight is up to 50lbs for leisure travelers before overweight fee hits. I work for another airline and we have the same rules. 🇺🇸
