If there is just one police officer like Officer Melvin Potter, believe me, there are probably 2 or 3 more, maybe 4 or 5. It could be 50 or 60… Whether it’s 1 or 100, good policing principles should never be negotiable. The fight for justice for Devon Anderson Jr. is not over, and it will not be over until Officer Melvin Potter is terminated from APD and the case is presented to a grand jury for consideration of criminal charges related to the death of Devon Anderson Jr. and the danger created when he recklessly discharged his Atlanta Police Department-issued firearm in the City of South Fulton. We expect the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to help ensure our communities remain safe. Additionally, quite frankly, it’s an oxymoron and a slap in the face to taxpayers for the City of #Atlanta to hold public safety meetings regarding the Atlanta Police Department’s crime statistics while employing an Atlanta police officer who is increasing crime statistics in neighboring cities. Come on, Atlanta Police… we’re better than this. #Accountability #JusticeForDevonAnderson
