There shouldn’t even be a comparison, both are wrong and for different reasons. Once these comparisons are made it becomes dangerous as by default one is minimised. May Allah swt forgive us and guide us all.

I’m interested in your thoughts. I’m an economist and your definition of riba is usuary which I think is correct but usuary differs greatly from interest on things like mortgages etc what are your thoughts

Cuz Salat is through hadiths given the definition ritual prayers. Salat is definetely not ritual prayer, it has a totally different meaning.

You call yourself a rational Muslim but employ irrational conditions in understanding. Your entire argument is written on the basis of the mentioning of punishment in the Quran and factoring potential harm to others. Firstly, can you provide evidence from the Quran and sunnah that your criterion is the exact way to interpret/decide what sin is worse? Especially since you’re using a book brought through the transmission of the very people who gave the interpretation. Your whole argument collapses here.
