No. Your body is falling asleep before your mind so you are consciously experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations. They usually come in the form of dreams. When you're falling asleep your brain will take the sounds around you and form other sounds, usually very distant talking and even loud bangs if you're stressed.

Wait… hold up. So it’s not my imagination? I’ve experienced this on and off over the years but lately I hear it every night. Sometimes I can make out familiar voices, but most of the time it’s just noise. I’d even joke with myself and say I’m hearing other people’s conversations or someone’s gossiping about me.

Clairaudience is my main gift. But I seldom hear an actual voice. It’s usually thoughts that drop into my mind that override my actual words. For example, I may be speaking out loud and then I get a sudden drop in my mind. Occasionally I do hear actual voices but rarely.

How do you communicate? This has been happening to me since I was a child. Sometimes it's scary and sometimes not. I've had my name called a lot and I also have sleep paralysis so that fear holds me back a little bit.

auditory hallucinations are actually common, especially as you begin to fall asleep. it's part of the brain shutting down and up. Friends, believing in magic is actually something you should speak to someone about.

this also happens in reverse sometimes too, I'll hear nothing, notice it, then boom, suddenly I can hear the TV on again and my family talking

Dk if this means anything but recently when going to sleep uk when u close ur eyes and u see darkness, well if i meditate long enough prior to going to sleep, i start seeing images of things. Last night i saw an old classic red car driving and then it slowly disappeared. Left me confused but k thought it was cool

I swear when I was younger I would tell my mom that it sounded like she was still up talking with her friends in the living room because this is what id hear obviously she said I was stupid and it wasnt real

Sooo…. I’ve been explaining to my sister and husband I’m hearing different voices at night. I will hear my name or short sentences but different voices. Sometimes softly spoken sometimes screaming to the point it jerks me back completely awake. What the hell is this?? 🥲
