The Puffs went to their first show of the year! Here is my full bath routine for a horse show. When the Puffs are shining & feeling their best, they perform their best! 1) Unbraid 2) Tidy up the bridle path, feather undercut, and tail undercut with Wahl KMC+ clipper. 3) Gentle Shampoo on the face, purple down the blaze and on the mustache! I use Cowboy Magic Yellow Out. 4) Head & Shoulders on the mane & body. Scrub, scrub, scrub with washing gloves! 5) Conditioner on everything, then rinse. 6) Throw a fleece on to keep her warm and drying while I do the feather & tail. Feather first, tail last. 7) Head & Shoulders on the feather, then purple or blue, then conditioner, and rinse. Comb out any build up. 8) Dunk the tail in a bucket of Head & Shoulders and warm water. Scrub and soak. Condition & Rinse. 9) Apply Cowboy Magic Detangler & Shine to wet mane, tail, and feather. Brush out when more dry. 10) Shoulder Gaurd to protect the hair (she can’t wear a full slinky because she hates it and rubs), show sheet, braid and vetwrap the tail in one huge braid for travel, and slide into a bag. Washing before the show helps me be able to focus on settling the horses in once we arrive. I do touch up grooming at the show and it’s so much easier! #equestrian #grooming #horselover #gypsyvanner #horse
