Let's stop making everything about politics. This is about Ghana and the lives of Ghanaians, not political parties.
Yes, the government has a responsibility to provide effective drainage systems, enforce sanitation laws, and respond swiftly to disasters. But as citizens, we also have a responsibility. Many of the floods we experience are made worse by our own actions—dumping rubbish into drains, allowing gutters to become clogged, and engaging in practices that harm our communities.
Even if every drain is cleared today, what will happen if we go back to the same habits tomorrow? We will continue to experience the same devastating consequences.
This is not the time for blame or political division. It is a time for responsibility, unity, and collective action. Sustainable change requires both accountable leadership and responsible citizens who are committed to doing their part.
Let us all take responsibility for keeping our surroundings clean, protecting our environment, and encouraging others to do the same. Together, we can build a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Ghana for ourselves and future generations.
