Finally, we get to introduce you to the donkeys YOU helped save 🤍 Yesterday afternoon all 13 donkeys were safely loaded & began their journey to Oscar’s Place. These photos & videos are from the first moments we met some of them. At the auction, they were just numbers. Now they have names and a future. We’ll share more names & updates when they arrive at Oscar’s Place, but we wanted to start introducing you to some of them now. There’s Patrick, a sweet boy who followed us around. Lindsey, a very young girl with her momma Anita. Pearlie, a young orphaned girl. Warren, a shy boy. And Bentley, a young shaggy boy. The day before the auction we learned that multiple people wanted Lindsey without her mom Anita. The auctioneer later confirmed this worry during bidding. Even though they sold them together it was very likely the buyer would later dump Anita back at the auction. Them being separated was never an option for us. One angel donor stepped forward specifically to make sure they stayed together and because of that generosity Lindsey & Anita will spend the rest of their lives together. We can’t wait for them to arrive at Oscar’s Place so their healing can begin. We’re excited to learn who they are, see their personalities shine, and share more of their lives with all of you who made this possible. Now these donkeys will know safety, care, and love for the rest of their lives, surrounded by people who will never fail them. Thank you for being there when they needed someone most, for refusing to look away when it would have been easier to scroll past, and for showing us all what compassion looks like. It feels like we can finally breathe. We are exhausted and emotionally drained from the stress and sadness of the past few days. We know many of you are too. But more than anything, we are overwhelmed with gratitude and so incredibly proud of this community. Today we celebrate your generosity, support, thoughts, and prayers. We celebrate 13 lives that will now unfold as they should in safety, care, & love. THANK YOU for saving their lives 🤍 Slide 1 & 2: Patrick Slide 3: Baby Lindsey & her momma Anita Slide 4: Pearlie Slide 5: Warren Slide 6: Bentley
