@the.healersmeditation: What Meditation Does For the Mind & Body🧘✨ #part1 Read caption below👇 Through meditating, being mindful and sitting with ourselves, we start get aware of our inner state. Thoughts, feelings and mind-chatter start to arrive and stories or experiences or even emotions that we've convinced ourselves we have moved on from, start to resurface . We start to feel uncomfortable and tend to "run" away from them by our daily distractions. But if we learn to sit in stillness with ourselves, in mindfulness and observation, we can learn to listen to Our Truth, that maybe we are not our thoughts. That once we stop running and start allowing ourselves to be and feel, the stories and emotions that our mind & body wanted to process a long time ago but did not get the time to, we can liberate ourselves. We get to learn that our thoughts are simply a construction of external environments, and we cannot be defined by them, we are simply the observer of those thoughts. We learn more about ourselves by observing our inner state, that maybe we are not that balanced, happy and in harmony with ourselves in daily life as we believed ourselves to be. Discovering that we seek happiness by controlling a certain outcome; by proving our self-worth by overworking & people-pleasing; needing validation by overexerting oneself; needing to feel deserving of love by overgiving (which does not result in happiness at all). Happiness starts within, it hurts at first, it confronts us with what happiness is not, but what we have attached ourself to believe it was. Then we start allowing to feel, release and see with our hearts what happiness really means to each of us individually. By practising mindfulness every day, we get to be more familiar with this process and eventually it becomes a kind and gentle teacher to us, that we can come back to for more wisdom and kindness. We experience that the best friend who listens to us and understands us unconditionally, was always inside of ourselves. Comment below what your thoughts are on sitting in stillness with yourself!
