The inspection is welcome, but the long-term solution is not to keep putting pressure on private hostel owners alone. Government and the university should invest in building enough affordable hostels to match the rapidly growing student population. When demand far exceeds supply, prices will naturally rise. Let’s address the root cause instead of only treating the symptoms. Students deserve decent, affordable accommodation, and private investors also deserve fair treatment.

These things all be noise. No student was forced to stay in those expensive hostels, if you can’t continue to pay just move out to a place u can pay less. Those days at ucc when the landlord increased the rent my roommate and I decided to rent elsewhere.
