I mean imo Lorelai was as controlling as Emily was, just in a different way. So what if Rory wanted to be like her grandma? It’s no better or worse of a life than Lorelai has. She should have focused on teaching Rory about character and confidence rather than insisting Harvard and journalism blindly. I always got the feeling that was HER dream, not Rory’s.
