Tap for the location & my mini-guide ✨ Welcome to… Salcombe, South Devon 🇬🇧 Follow @livingourmemories for more beautiful destinations in the UK, Europe and beyond 🧡 This is one of the prettiest coastal towns in England, and it genuinely feels like you’ve been transported somewhere on the Mediterranean coast 🥹 With colourful sailing boats, crystal-clear water, pastel-coloured houses and some of Devon’s most beautiful beaches nearby, it’s easy to see why this place is so popular ☀️ Here’s my mini-guide to visiting: Located in South Devon, around 35 miles from Plymouth and 25 miles from Dartmouth. From London you can actually catch a direct train to nearby Totnes here which takes 2hrs 35mins from here you can hop on a local bus or take a taxi, making it perfect for a weekend away this summer. If you’re visiting by car, there are several pay-and-display car parks in the town, but they can fill up quickly during weekends and school holidays, so arriving early is a good idea (they’re also quite expensive!) For the best views of Salcombe, head up to Snapes Point, where you’ll get a panoramic view across the estuary and surrounding coastline (where the first clip was taken). It’s also a beautiful spot for sunset! One of the best things to do here is take the passenger ferry across to East Portlemouth, where you’ll find beautiful beaches and coastal walks with incredible views back towards Salcombe ⛴️ You can also hire paddleboards, kayaks and boats to explore the estuary from the water, or simply spend the day wandering the boutique shops, waterfront cafés and harbourfront streets 🛶 Salcombe itself is super small, but it’s worth spending an hour here to explore the little lanes and independent shops. Who’s adding Salcombe to their UK summer travel wish list? - #visitdevon #traveldevon #ukstaycation #visitengland #travelbritain
