@starsistor: One of my first crank mechanisms for a flapping robot. The concept worked mechanically, but the prototype was too heavy, and the motor couldn't deliver enough power to overcome gravity. It never took off. Still, it became an important step toward understanding what really matters in flapping flight: weight, power, transmission efficiency and wing design.
