A lot of people haven’t watched the show since originally aired and think the meme is a scene from the show. This is why I stop arguing with people on the internet because many haven’t watched it in a long time, never watched the full series or only watch clips

it feels like it was made by people who only looked at fan discourse and memes rather than the actual show. that’s why they include memes like cactus juice, no war in ba sing se and azula joking about zuko to aang or fan favourite headcanons like zutara. they include these things without understanding the context that actually made it work in the original. I HATE THIS LIVE ACTION

It may not seem that deep, but it takes away from the big reveal of just what they’re doing to them. Her saying it out right is not the same as the pieces being put down one by one to build suspense. It almost gives “oh and just in case you’re on your phone we think there’s no war in ba sing se”. They’re telling instead of showing and it’s dumbing down a lot of crucial parts.
