Depends on your equipment utilization of your equipment. It used to be that 40acres was efficient, then 80, then by the 1980’s it was 400, now with new equipment it may be 2000 acres. If you can make 30yr old equipment work then 500 is probably a part time job.

My dad always said if you had a good 160 or 240 acres paid for and kept maintained equipment for that size acres You would make a nice living and not be stressed to the max.
