@artvangarde: Adèle Gervaise is a French sculptor whose work transforms ceramics into living musical instruments. Inspired by ancient Huaco whistle vessels from pre-Columbian Peru, she reinterprets this forgotten technology through contemporary sculpture. As water moves inside the ceramic chambers, trapped air is pushed through hidden channels, producing haunting, organic sounds without any electronics. Each piece becomes both a sculpture and a sound performance, inviting viewers to experience the invisible relationship between air, water, movement, and acoustics. Her work reconnects ancient craftsmanship with contemporary art, turning simple physical principles into poetic, interactive experiences. #art #avantgarde #artist #sculpture #niche

the comments are so focused on the sounds I cannot help but want everyone to notice the one where you have to grip its toes — I am so much more uncomfortable with the toe hand holding than the sounds HAHAAH

But… but in order to get the sounds right you need to sculpt and test before firing and the pitch changes after firing… and it’s not just one chamber… DO YOU ALL KNOW HOW IMPRESSIVE THIS IS!?!?!? 😳 How many trial and errors, how many broken mistakes, how much of a study and hyper fixation this would take?!?! 🤯

I cannot for the life of me understand how the sound is produced from these insanely cool sculptures. they look and sound like they belong in horror movies. sooooo cool
