Im medically disabled an on SSDI and SNAP. All my snap funds go towards things I can make meals with. If I want something sweet, I'll use my own money to buy some $3 store brand ice cream. SNAP is for the essentials

Unhealthy food is also significantly cheaper than healthy food. It is cheaper to go buy soda instead of water by the bottle. Same with hamburger helper vs a steak.

If you buy soft drinks, government money or not, you're a slob. The only understandable time I can think of is if you're getting fast food at that should also be limited to max once every few months as a treat.
