I believe the Court also compassionately stated Trans folks otherwise have equal rights as persons, can't be discriminated against overall and are to be allowed to live their life in peace.

I support trans people but I also support this decision. The reason being that not everyone is entitled to everything. An example I think of is as a 5 foot female, I would not be playing on the women's basketball team. Why? Because physically I do not have the correct traits. Same for trans women. They do not have the correct physical traits to play in sports. Lots of other things they can do. Probably other ways to play sports like intermural or private leagues if they wanted.

It’s complex most trans women are similar in Strength to cis women however the major caveat some are not weaker or have not been on estrogen long

these comments are so stupid we’re talking about literal highschool sports. many enjoy it as a hobby it’s not life and death there’s no reason a trans girl shouldn’t be allowed to participate in sports. most sports that women can participate in in high school are not even hands on (track, swimming, cheerleading, not football) so what do you mean safety issue. you guys are weird as hell we’re talking minors doing extra curricular at school.

Think we’re forgetting trans men exist again. Also just leave it up to the sports organizations, we don’t need a federal case over 12 girls. This is just a wedge issue to go after title 9.

Trans women are women. This is a slipper slope to eugenics as people with intersex or just abnormal levels of their hormones could have an advantage or disadvantage. Then we have to inspect everyone and ask "what is the cut off." These older people have no concept of the genetics or science beyond poor 1950s era segregated schools education on biology.

Don't quote a conservative rag paper for science or politics when it comes to minorities. The science has shown the advantages go away for a long time now. This was clearly a ruling based on political bias and discrimination and not science or expertise. Trans women are not going to play with men. This bans trans women from sports. I don't care what polls say. White people used to poll high on slavery being okay.

1. This decision ignores the fact that intersex people exist. It ignores the science of even biological gender being a spectrum. It’s not as simple as xx or xy, that’s the dumbed down version. 2. While this sounds like a low stakes issue, how will today’s decision be used to impact more serious things affecting trans women?

SCOTUS got it right. We have to give females equal protection to play sports in a competitive league just like men can. Common sense stuff. This is why dems lose elections. Dems keep this up and we will have Trump’s third term.

As a reminder, really tall women have an advantage in basketball. I’ve played against larger girls in soccer who have size and strength advantage…Michael Phelps has a bigger wingspan etc which gives him advantage in swimming. Even if trans women have “advantage” why does that matter more than these other advantages?

I think they're trying to ban transgender women period. This is just the start of trying to erase transgender women, which is ridiculous because many people have not met a transgender woman and it doesn't effect anyone's life except the transgender women.

It's more than that. If you are genetically a male, you will have an advantage over people born as a woman, period! Stronger muscles, bigger lungs, some advantages due to chemical differences etc. Trans women should not play in women sports because of this. A totally unfair advantage, FACTUALLY. 😌

Complex issue - there are different levels of journeys to become trans. Some take medication, others don’t. Some do surgeries, others don’t. I’ll let the judges who are way smarter to make the decision

Replace trans with black or Asian or Hispanic or handicapped in this story and your opinion changes right? Not everyone fits in your perfect box! It’s not hard to understand. Are we going to start doing blood tests on the sides of little league fields?? What about the people who don’t check either box fully? What happens to intersex athletes? Biologically they can’t reproduce for either team. Keep politics out of medical decisions across the board imo. 🙄
