Medical trauma but also the way family members and people in my life have not believed me or have been suspicious that I’m lying or it isn’t as bad as I am making it to be. That’s been the worst part.

It is a very tough choice as severe pain and a lot of my issues effect me so severely however because of a severe complication to my disease and being failed and gaslit delayed diagnosis has caused severe permanent consequences I would not be so bad if I was believed initially.

Second one, hands down. I can cope with being chronically almost a corpse if people are kind. Systems rarely are.

Honestly, being constantly dismissed has been more traumatizing. I even started gaslighting myself. Maybe I am dramatic, maybe I do have anxiety, maybe I’m making myself sick etc. I came home crying after many of my appointments. I went to my gastro the other day, who has been nothing but sweet and helpful, and I was telling her how my gastric symptoms have improved from meds she gave me and i actually got anxiety thinking “will she think I am lying? Did she give me a placebo to prove im just having anxiety?” I literally did not have anxiety prior to dealing with doctors but I do now. I kept picking at my nails the whole appointment and I noticed she kept looking at my hands. I had never been nervous of doctors prior to this, never minded Pap smears, dentist, blood draws etc. My husband has to reassure me I’m not crazy.

I am more traumatized by the mental side of it and people telling me i should be grateful that my labs are normal and doctors telling me that well your blood work is normal and that I should be grateful and that there’s nothing wrong with me and been told I just wanted attention. Like before I got sick I was running 70 miles a week but sure I would much rather be sick and not able to go to school or not able to do my sport just so I can be in pain all the time and have severe mental issues because of how much my life got flipped upside down from this. And it just drives me crazy when people telling me to go to the doctor I’m like I am not going to the doctor when I have a bad flare up because they don’t do anything.
