Over the past four months, I’ve had the opportunity to test the new @djiglobal Mavic 4 Pro. Compared to the Mavic 3 Pro, it’s a significant upgrade in every aspect. The low-light performance is so good that it can even capture the northern lights. Here is a compilation of my favorite shots so far 🚁 To make it easier, here is my list of pros and cons: (separate photography review coming soon 📸). While DJI is sponsoring this post, my opinions are entirely my own, and they had no input on my reflections or insights. ✅ Pros: - Upgraded 168mm camera with usable video compared to Mavic 3 Pro. Look at those reindeer and seal shots! 🤯 - Native vertical video in all three cameras
(6K on 28mm + 4k on 70mm & 168mm). 90% of the shots in this reel were shot in vertical mode. - Dual native ISO in all three cameras 
(400 & 1600 in D-Log). - ƒ/2.0 - ƒ/11 adjustable aperture on the main 28mm camera. ƒ/2.0 is insane for low light. - D-Log and ALL-I codecs on all three cameras for seamless color matching in post-production. - 90 km/h top horizontal speed and 36 km/h ascent/descent speed (in sport mode) - 51-minute flight time (even longer if you turn off the obstacle avoidance) - Upgraded RC Pro 2 with a 7-inch display and peak brightness of 2000-nits. ❌ Cons: - There is no ProRes option, not even in the 512GB Creator Combo version. The new ALL-I codec is great, but ProRes is sometimes required for productions. - Restricted top horizontal speed in native vertical mode. Don’t use if you need to fly fast 😂. Sideways flying is not restricted, though! - There are weird noise artifacts in the 168mm camera’s D-Log that need to be removed in post-production. Hopefully, a firmware update can fix this. - The 70 mm and 168mm cameras do not have an adjustable aperture. It would have been nice! - The tele cameras cannot be used for high-end productions. It would be nice if DJI made a standard Mavic 4 with only a wide-angle camera and a larger super-35mm sensor. Overall, the Mavic 4 Pro has enhanced my creative potential in aerial photography to a new level, unlocking shots that were not possible before. Got any questions?
