@keepingupwith.kinder: Strong readers aren’t built by memorizing words … they’re built through explicit, systematic phonics instruction. 💗 One of my favorite parts of summer school was using @Laprea Education Developing Decoders to make every small group lesson purposeful. I love that each lesson includes decodable texts, the Map It resource for orthographic mapping, warm-up words, high-frequency word practice, and detailed lesson plans that align with the Science of Reading and Scarborough’s Reading Rope. Everything works together to help students move from sounding out words to reading with confidence and automaticity.
