Also higher rates of pediatric cancer! I used to work in peds hem onc and more often than not those kiddos were ivf babies. So sad!

everyone needs to look into their own clinics more. I have an IVF baby, and pregnant with my second, and we had to take a whole class before moving forward with all of this information to make sure we know what we're getting into. we also were not required to do testing or icsi, we chose not to test. we were also given information on what to do with extra embryos. we will be donating to science. a lot of your points are valid, but good clinics will give this information up front to let you make the best decision for you.

High volume IVF centers are the culprit, hyper stimulation is horrifying. They just need their numbers met…Although IVF done the right way with the appropriate empathetic doctor who personalizes your treatment - in my opinion is the way to go

Is there a way to do laparoscopy without it affecting my ovarian reserve? That’s my biggest fear as my reserve is already low. I’m going to an endometriosis specialist next week in hopes to be diagnosed so there’s no more of this unexplained infertility stuff

i had to do med injections for about 14 weeks!! two weeks before transfer and then until 12 weeks pregnant! it’s insane

I did 7 egg retrievals to get my miracle babe. Wouldn’t trade it for the world. I had to do that many (and my doctor was clear I would need multiple rounds) because I have diminished ovarian reserve. I honestly don’t feel any trauma from the ivf itself but would feel devastated if I never got my daughter.

I am 41 froze some eggs at 34 due to cancer using my embryos now. The progesterone and estrogen shots have made me feel like myself again! I think I was premenopausal and I feel AMAZINGG baby or not I feel great. I always only hear negatives about the hormones. Just thought I would add some real life experience as opposed to your “research”

Interesting points, with both of my IVF babies I had retained placenta. For my first one I had to have emergency surgery immediately after delivering naturally

Loving this series and your story. I’m not trying to have a baby but I enjoy learning as much as I can about it and all about the informed consent!! I’ve been shouting this stuff from the rooftops. My friend died of SCAAD due to IVF this past December and she was never informed of the risks. We only learned about it after her autopsy and her husband had no idea that was ever a possibility or a risk of losing her.
