**“And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be fully compensated for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.”** *(Qur'an 2:281)* This verse is one of the Qur'an's most powerful reminders of the Hereafter. Many scholars of Qur'anic exegesis stated that it was among the last verses revealed, serving as a profound conclusion that awakens the heart and reminds every person that life in this world is temporary and that the final destination of all mankind is to stand before Allah. **“And fear a Day…”** means to prepare for that great Day with sincere faith, righteous deeds, and sincere repentance, placing between yourself and Allah's punishment a shield of obedience and the avoidance of sin. **“…when you will be returned to Allah…”** reminds us that every human being will ultimately return to their Creator. On that Day, wealth, status, and worldly power will be of no benefit. Each person will stand alone before Allah, carrying nothing except their deeds. **“Then every soul will be fully compensated for what it has earned…”** means that every individual will receive the complete recompense for every deed—whether good or evil, great or small. Every word, every action, every intention, and every moment is perfectly recorded. **“…and they will not be wronged.”** This affirms Allah's perfect justice. No one will be treated unfairly, not even by the weight of an atom. No soul will bear the burden of another, and no righteous deed will ever be lost. This verse is a timeless call to hold ourselves accountable before we are held accountable, to make the most of our lives before they come to an end, and to remember that every moment we live is being recorded and will one day be presented before Allah. Blessed is the one who meets Allah with a sound heart, righteous deeds, and sincere repentance.
