A COSTLY DRIVE 🚗⚖️ A 56-year-old Porsche driver in Malaysia will spend five days in jail and five years without a driving licence after a few minutes of aggressive driving on a busy highway. On 22 October 2026, the Magistrates' Court in Petaling Jaya, near Kuala Lumpur, sentenced Woo Hong Jiang to five days in prison and fined him RM10,000 (about US$2,400). He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. According to the charge, Woo drove his Porsche Cayenne dangerously on the Puchong Bypass towards Bukit Jalil, in Selangor state, at 2:14 p.m. on 18 October 2026. Reports from the court said he changed lanes without signalling, chased another car after its driver sounded the horn, and tried to force other vehicles to stop. No one was hurt and no vehicles were damaged. But the prosecution said his behaviour put other road users at risk and asked for a heavy penalty to deter others. Woo, who had no lawyer, asked the court for a light sentence. Magistrate Nur Natasya Mohtaruddin ordered him to begin his jail term the same day. If he does not pay the fine, he will serve six more months. Under Malaysia's Road Transport Act 1987, dangerous driving carries up to five years in prison and a fine of RM5,000 to RM15,000 (about US$1,200 to US$3,600), plus a driving ban of at least five years. Police received the first report on 19 October, and another driver came forward the next day. A moment of anger on the road can cost far more than a fine. Patience keeps everyone on the road safe. 🚗⚖️ Source: Malay Mail, Free Malaysia Today and 8TV News, 22 October 2026 Photo: Bernama
