@eden.keim: There are people who remind you what unconditional love really looks like and Zack’s parents have been that for me. To his mom and stepdad and to his dad and stepmom, thank you. You welcomed me in your life as a teenager and have shown up for me in my adult years. Thank you for continuing to show up for Banks and Sterling with the same love you’ve always had for them. Thank you for never making me feel like I had to carry this journey alone. Thanks for understanding what the bad days look like and how grief and joy can co exist. Their support has been one of the greatest examples of Christ’s love I’ve ever witnessed!!! Steady, gracious, selfless and full of love. After losing Zack, life looked nothing like any of us imagined. There wasn’t a handbook for navigating grief, healing, being a young widow or what came next. But through every season, you’ve met me with grace instead of judgment, love instead of expectations and support instead of conditions. You’ve allowed me the space to heal. You’ve cheered me on as I’ve found joy again. You’ve welcomed Matt and people who have become part of my life with open hearts because, above all else, you want what’s best for me and for these sweet kids. This kind of love is rare.
