@lonsdaleleather: If you ever wanted to add a little structure to your leather straps without having to use different leather, maybe you would consider a folded strap after this video 👀 Using a TechSew 4800 makes it easy, but this technique is doable with a simple saddle stitch. Although a little more work, it would elevate your floppy straps to a structured luxury strap in no time without having to look for a thicker leather. It's essential that the fold us evenly distributed through the entire stitch line. For hand-stitching, we would recommend gluing the fold, then punching the stitch line through both pieces. This would reduce the chances of misaligned stitches that could lead to your strap warping as you stitch. For machine sewing, having leather tape can help the fold from shifting as you stitch with the walking foot. Have you tried this technique before? Leave a comment!
