Butter freezes well if you have too much to use. Roll into a log shape and wrap in greaseproof paper tightly and then in clingfilm. Slice off disks and use as needed

I make butter often. Washing it is only needed if you want to use it for frying or want to keeping in room temperature. Just press it to the side of the bowl to loose most of the buttermilk and then if you want add salt. The butter will be better tasting if you don’t wash it. But store it in the fridge and use within a week. Or freeze in smaller bits and take out as much as you use in a few days and keep on the counter. If you want to fry in your butter just rinse as you did here

That was the correct butter to waffle ratio. 10/10 you could make a brown butter with it and use that to make fancy chocolate chip cookies
