@food52: We’re down to #2 in our Top 10. @itsginabruno makes Emma Laperruque’s Pasta With Garlic Butter Sauce, where a whole head of garlic cooks down into a rich, buttery sauce that coats every bite. It’s a weeknight dinner our community comes back to again and again.
I'm doing the same recipe as a quicky one but use a bit less garlic and add capers. Delicious 🥰

We really need to stop saying this silly thing about "salty like the sea." In the first place, you can definitely over salt water. In the second place, it's not even factually accurate. The amount of salt in seawater is like seven times greater than the maximum saltiness you want for your pasta water. It's just a silly thing that we say. But it's not true. And for young cooks, we shouldn't give them this silly thing. There is an appropriate amount of saltiness. That's how salty it should be.

This seems silly. But I suppose it’s worth reminding people of the basics that just work. Bread and butter. Sticky rice and soy sauce. A baked potato! Love me a pb&j sandwich!

As a poor new college grad back in the 80s I ate this literally every single day - if I had an extra buck I might add a chopped tomato or bacon but mostly just this

There is such a thing as too much salt. In fact, a better phrase is “you can always add more salt, but you cannot remove salt once added”

I have found that I salt the water a lot and then use the pasta water in the sauce, then the sauce tastes salty.
