@mrjoshuaruse: Texas schools are making a major change—and it’s already sparking debate. The Texas State Board of Education has approved a new statewide reading list that includes selected Bible passages as part of classroom instruction. According to state officials, the goal is to teach students about the Bible’s historical and literary influence on American history, Western civilization, and English literature—not to provide religious instruction. Supporters say understanding biblical references helps students better understand history, literature, art, and many of the nation’s founding documents. Critics argue that including required Bible passages in a public school curriculum raises concerns about the separation of church and state and whether public schools should require those readings. One important distinction: This debate is not about whether students can read the Bible in public schools—they already can. The debate is over whether specific Bible passages should be included as part of the state’s required curriculum. The new standards will be introduced in phases, beginning with elementary grade levels over the coming years. What do you think? Should the Bible be included as part of a public school’s literature and history curriculum, or should those lessons be left out of required instruction? 👇 Share your thoughts below, and please keep the discussion respectful. #Texas #Education #PublicSchools #News #Curriculum

I've gone back and forth on this. on one hand having none Christian teach the Bible seems bad and it opens the door for other religions text. however they are not actually teaching the Bible they are just showing how it relates to literature and history and we can not cut out parts of our history good or bad. so I think it's something people should know and need to understand alot of references across history and literature.
