That branding is top tier. The story telling that could have been done using the box characters. Oh man, that is a huge opportunity missed in my opinion.

I think you nailed it. I get the idea of having a serious mission of ending world hunger, but that fun likeable identity would probably appeal to those who want to help and those in need of help. Thanks for sharing this

I truly appreciate your honesty. However, I feel you are that guy. your design presentation was class and will be the mark I will like to think of when I think about the end to world hunger.

I think asking, “Is this the logo that will end world hunger?” Is unfair (and I’m sure part of a larger critique) but what does that even mean? How does that get us closer to a final solution?

No hate to the organization, they’re doing an absolutely stunning work, but I feel like their expectations are not in the right place right now. Is this the logo that will represent the end of world hunger? No idea… but also, are they really gonna be able to end world hunger? No idea either! Right now all you both have to offer is the best of yourselves hopping it’s enough, cause it should be:)

CJ i think when the client started to say is this the logo or identity that would end world hunger … i feel this is when he lost sight of his project and how unique it could be. Truth is there is no end to world hunger … in fact world hunger might increase with climate change and economic crisis … there is no logo to end world hunger because there is no end. I think you’ve done an amazing job. But also (nothing against the client or foundation) expectations and reality have to be grounded at all times. That’s just my opinion and initial thoughts with what i’ve seen and heard from this story and development

One question: Do you charge people for a project that’s rejected?

It always pains me to be reminded that great people are also bad decision makers. This branding was incredible. Cuts across every language. Makes a lovebale mascot etc etc etc

We definitely need more discussions about how we might not be the right fit for things, projects and people we really like and that's okay.

I don't get it why? what was wrong .. because to me I saw kindness, care, love, softness, and charity without demands... I think this was the logo to end world hunger.. what am I missing?

Absolutely love that design, one of the best I’ve seen on your page in fact! Shame it wasn’t right for them. Still, great you were able to take lessons away from it plus turn it into a teachable moment.

The branding is amazing, and I don't agree with the conclusion. "Is that a logo that will end world hunger?" Yes, maybe, no, who knows? It is a very abstract question. Will the identity help the project to be seen and heard and thus help it to fight world hunger? Most definitely.

at first, the logo seemed plain. But the. After seeing all the options it had to give life to the project itself, the stacks. w/ different eyes, the colors, denying the strength of this design project & rather sticking with a green dot and a standard "se" seems like the wrong choice. With that said, I love your work man. Very inspiration for me

tbh I think you created an amazing visual identity and the actual problem was the ego of the organization that was too big to realize this. the issue here was their ego not yours.

I have to say this logo is the one. And I can see it having great impact. For a social enterprise I think this is actually really innovative, modern, fresh and fun. I love it.

Unfortunately it sounds like they wanted something that didn’t have personality - something more akin to a government agency - corporate. It sounds more like a company positioning problem because „what does the logo mark of ending world hunger look like“ is extremely subjective.

In my humble opinion I think the branding is fantastic, especially how versatile it is for other applications. I would be incredibly happy if my designer came up with this!

I definitely lack the professional insight but from a consumer point of view I think it was a fantastic logo design based on the concept behind it. I’d love you to design a logo for my community interest company!

Nope. 🙂‍↔️You built a great system and the one they should’ve chosen. Partly, because it’s cute and fun… even though world hunger isn’t. It would be something people would want to display on totes and merch, and something people would ask about. Right now, they have a very generic and boring logo that disengages people as soon as they see it. The box reminds me of charity: water, which also has a similarly engaging visual language with a similar origin story to your box-face logo.

To be honest, I think they actually really missed a great opportunity to have a brand flushed out like this with such a great concept. I’ve looked at what they finally went with and to be honest I don’t see any humanity in it. I don’t people. I just see a corporation.

Huge respect, but i probably missed it in the video, but is there a reason you didnt try again? I know you said that it is an ego thing, but not every time can you hit the mark immediately right, so you try again no? Apologies if it was said and i missed it.

The comment about ending world hunger feels unfair and what does that even mean? Their logo is not responsible for that their actions are. I really liked that concept I think it was strong and why not just have revisions rather than knock your confidence. Don't let this knock you. I honestly think the concept was good.
