used cars that are old have multiple types of problems. there's mechanical problems that are major motor transmission, axles, rust mechanical problems that are minor brakes suspension you should get a discount for the minor problems, but they're usually pretty cheap and easy to fix aesthetic problems. you can fix them yourself after a couple of YouTube tutorials YOU SHOULD ALWAYS GET YOUR VEHICLE INSPECTED $200 now saves you thousands later

Same bs here in Germany...lol Had a care salesman try and sell me a car in non working condition with no ABS/non-working brakes.Same guy said "I don't understand why so many people take cars for pre-pruchase inspections. They don't even check all that much...". Safe to say I didn't buy the car.
