@offenceregister: Russell Trelore Barrow Killer Sex Offender A Cumbrian man, Russell Trelore, who had fatally stabbed his wife, passed away from natural causes after developing a blood clot in his lungs. On May 27, 2025, Russell Trelore, 64, passed away in a hospital while incarcerated at HMP Buckley Hall in Rochdale. In 2011, he killed his 44-year-old wife, Sara Trelore, at their North Row, Barrow, home and was sentenced to life in prison. She was stabbed 19 times and died on the spot. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman's investigation raised no issues with the treatment Trelore received before his passing and offered no suggestions. According to the article, Trelore passed away from pulmonary thromboembolism, a condition in which a blood clot blocks a blood vessel in the lungs. The coroner found that Trelore's death was due to natural causes at an inquest. NHS England hired an impartial clinical reviewer to assess Trelore's treatment at HMP Buckley Hall. The reviewer concluded that the clinical care he received was "of a good standard" and comparable to what he might have anticipated in the community. The reviewer concluded that Trelore was "consistently seen promptly when required" and that his healthcare needs were effectively met, despite his having little interaction with medical professionals during his stay at Buckley Hall. Additionally, the Ombudsman's investigator reviewed non-clinical aspects of his care and found nothing concerning. Trelore was convicted of killing Mrs Trelore in November 2010 and was jailed at Preston Crown Court. Midway through his trial, Trelore altered his plea from guilty to murder. He was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 16 years and 190 days. #Barrow #RussellTrelore #Cumbria #PrestonCrownCourt #HMPBuckleyHall
