@ryback: A lot of people don’t know this, but the original monster version of Ryback that debuted in WWE actually originated years earlier in Ohio Valley Wrestling as a Terminator-inspired character. He didn’t speak, wore a red contact lens in one eye, and was completely mission-oriented—cold, focused, and relentless. That robotic intensity made the character believable and helped establish who Ryback was before the audience ever heard him say a word. Even though Ryback wasn’t literally a cyborg (although some have called me the Sin City Cyborg 😅), I always loved that aspect of the character. I’ve always been drawn to characters who say very little at first, let their actions do the talking, and then gradually evolve over time. Not every performer can pull that off, but when it works, it creates something special. The early Ryback was all business—straight to the point. “Feed Me More.” Looking back, I’m grateful I got the opportunity to bring the character I created to WWE television and then continue evolving him as time went on.
