When something genuinely cannot be replenished, the direction of value over time is clear. Colombian emerald: yes, but with one firm condition. The stone has to be clean. If inclusions are present, it moves down the list and stops being a first choice. The oil also matters: the treatment level has to be within the accepted range. A clean Colombian emerald with the right color and minimal treatment has stable demand from the most demanding buyers in the world. That combination is a yes. Paraiba tourmaline: yes. Clean stones, ideally unheated, are the priority. But even heated material in super clean quality from Brazil or Mozambique is a legitimate investment at the moment. Both origins are recognized. The color, that neon blue-green that exists nowhere else in the natural gemstone world, is what drives the value. It's an extremely rare collector stone and the investment case is strong across both origin options when the quality is right.
