In some states alcohol is closely regulated and the bartender can get into a lot trouble for having a heavier hand.

Once the snap and clap happened with the "you're just a bartender", I would have taken the drink back, declared they were intoxicated, and therefore no longer able to be served alcohol by anyone in the establishment.
